Daryl Impey: “Sky rode exceptionally well”

“It’s been a fantastic moment to ride the team time trial with the yellow-blue jersey. I’ve felt very proud. If you told me I’d come to the Dauphiné and I’d be in this jersey one day, I would have taken it, so I’m happy. I would have loved to keep the jersey but we’ve done our best and that’s all we could ask for. Sky had an exceptional day. They got everything together. We had a good ride as well. We went as fast as we could. We didn’t make any mistake. But Sky has all world class time trialist in one team. They knew they’d beat us today. But we’ll come to the Tour de France with a stronger team, time trial wise and let’s hope we can beat Sky in July.”
