Brent Van Moer: “I wanted to prove I can finish things off”

“I couldn’t hope for anything better. I was really disappointed last week, I was on my own in the Ronde van Limburg but I was very unlucky and the victory escaped me. I wanted to prove I can finish things off with a victory… and I’ve done it on the Dauphiné! This morning, I wanted to be in the breakaway, first of all to take the points for the polka-dot jersey. And at the end of the stage, I still felt good so I wanted to try. I didn’t have good memories from the Dauphiné, after abandoning last year, but I’m really happy today.”
