Corenc, an unspoiled bucolic village in the Isère department, is divided into two parts: Corenc le Haut, which remains a rural area, and Corenc le Bas, where lodges and villas have been built since the 1960s. Despite being part of Grenoble Alpes Métropole, it lies within the boundaries of Chartreuse Regional Natural Park. Its main appeal comes from its location halfway between the city and the mountains:  perched on the "balcony of Chartreuse", from where the Mont Blanc can be seen on clear days, lit up by sunshine and built on green meadows with a plunging view of the Grésivaudan valley and Belledonne massif, Corenc is just a few minutes away from Grenoble's vibrant urban life. Its architectural heritage boasts several châteaux, such as Château de Bouquéron (12th-15th centuries), which has hosted Louis XI, Jean le Rond d'Alembert and many other famous people.
