AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES REGION POLKA-DOT JERSEY PARTNER

© M. Peres/Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Critérium du Dauphiné Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a legendary competition. Each year, in our region, it brings together the elite of the international peloton to do battle on our demanding roads. It is a major event in the cycling season and always a fine foretaste to the Tour de France.
Over the years, the Critérium du Dauphiné has become an institution and is also a symbol of our region’s excellence when it comes to cycling. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a major sporting region and especially a historical home of cycling. From the roads of the Auvergne to the Alpine passes, the route of this new edition will put the spotlight on our landscapes and territories, which are the playgrounds of choice for many cycling enthusiasts.
The Region is therefore proud to be a partner of such a competition. Firstly, because it embodies all the beautiful values of cycling, which are so dear to me: perseverance, self-sacrifice, merit and commitment. Secondly, due to the fact that cycling races create an unforgettable festive atmosphere in our towns and villages: from the start to the finish, all our inhabitants can enjoy the magical atmosphere created as the cyclists ride by. This is how enthusiasm is born at the roadside, when spectators can be dazzled by the exploits of the greatest champions. This edition will also be an opportunity to watch our champions from the region who will be flying the flag of our local pride. From Julian Alaphilippe to Romain Bardet, there are many champions who come from our region, for which they are wonderful ambassadors.
I hope everyone has an excellent race
Laurent Wauquiez – President of the AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES Region

From 4th to 11th June, the 75th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné will again wind along the roads of the region from west to east, from the fringes of the Auvergne to the great Alpine passes before finishing the week at La Bastille, on the heights above Grenoble, 23 years after the last finish at the same place. With unprecedented finishes in the Jura, at Crest-Voland, or at the summit of the Col de la Croix-de-Fer pass, at an altitude of 2,067 metres, the race dreamt up by Georges Cazeneuve again promises a week of feats and thrills with some of the favourites for this summer’s Tour de France.
