Burgaudeau: "I can’t wait for what’s coming now"

June 6 th 2023 - 18:01

"I was expecting a bit more of a fight for the breakaway, with a proper terrain to battle at the beginning of the stage. When I saw it was just the two of us with Milesi… But two riders, it’s still better than being alone! But he didn’t want to keep going. I kept going for the KOM points and then I tried a bit on the uphill sections but I only had a gap of 3 minutes with 100 km to go, with headwind. I didn’t want to waste energy for nothing. There will be more breakaways to do, especially on the two days after the TT. The form is increasing and I can’t wait for what’s coming now."
