Grondin: "I was still in quite some pain"

"At the beginning of the stage, I saw Pierre Latour attacked on the climb with several teammates to take the points but I couldn’t even try to follow them. I had neither the legs nor the courage to go. I was still in quite some pain so I decided to stay safe in the bunch. I know tomorrow’s ITT will be sort of a transition stage, a bit like today. But we’ll see how the legs feel by Thursday to evaluate if I can defend the polka-dot jersey."
