Giulio Ciccone: "a gift for my future wife"

"The last 500 metres were really long. But with all the people on the roadside, it was really nice. When I looked behind I saw I was in front with some gaps. I’m really happy I made it to the finish. This year, the Giro was on my program but I had a problem just before. I spent 10 days off the bike so the condition was not 100%. I started the race with the Tour de France on my mind. And I saw the condition was getting better and better. I’m really happy to close the week with a victory. The Tour de France is really close but before that I’ll get married next week, so it’s a gift for my future wife. Now I go home, then I do the nationals and the Tour. I really like the polka-dot jersey and I hope I can also get it in the Tour de France."
