Jake Stewart: "I had to kick before Milan"

"It’s huge! That one feels really good. Apart from the Tour de France, it doesn’t really come bigger than winning at the Critérium du Dauphiné. It’s certainly the biggest win of my career. In Dunkirk, I got my first win in a few years and I was so close also here in the first stage… To get redemption like that in our last opportunity is really good.
It’s such a shame that Pascal Ackermann crashed today. It was a good day for him too. The boys backed me, they did an awesome job and I’m just so happy that I could finish it off.
We’ve seen Jonathan Milan struggle a bit on the climbs the last few days but he was really strong today. I was following him into the last three kilometres, then I navigated a bit and I found my way through. I knew I needed to kick before Milan. I went with 300 metres to go and I managed to hold it to the line."
